Contract Terms:

This Agreement dated                                                            by and between Peter Otto (hereinafter called the officiant) and                                  and                            

(hereinafter called the couple or partner) agree as follows:

I. The marriage license, if required, must be obtained in person by the couple at their local County Registrar. The marriage license must be presented to the officiant at the rehearsal or prior to the start of the ceremony if there is no rehearsal.

a. Couple must have at least one witness available to sign the license at the ceremony if the license is a "Public License."

b. The officiant will mail the completed marriage license within 5 (five) business days after the completed ceremony to the issuing agency.

II. Payment of Fees:

a. A reservation fee is due to reserve ceremony date in Officiant's calendar.

i. This fee will be applied to the balance of ceremony fees.

b. A rehearsal fee (if applicable) shall be due prior to or at the start of the rehearsal.

c. All ceremony fee balances shall be due prior to or at the start of the ceremony, and are non-refundable, unless forfeited by the officiant.

III. Methods of Payment: The officiant accepts cash, credit card, personal check, cashier’s check, or money order.

a. Payments made by credit card will include a $5.00 conveyance charge.

b. Payments made by checks or money orders are to be made payable to “Peter Otto” or "Officiant Peter Otto".

IV. Day of Rehearsal (If applicable)

a. The officiant will arrive at least 15 minutes prior to rehearsal start time.

V. Day of Ceremony

a. The officiant will arrive at least 15 minutes prior to ceremony start time.

VI. Late Start: If for ANY reason by no fault of the officiant, the ceremony starts 20 minutes or more after it the scheduled start time, the officiant may, at his option, either:

a. Perform a very short civil ceremony in place of the agreed-upon ceremony.

i. Couple agrees that the contents of the ceremony/script may be spontaneously edited for time, as needed, solely at the discretion of the officiant. “Editing” may include the deletion of any wording, the elimination or alteration of any elements and/or readings, the substitution of wording/elements, etc., as the officiant deems necessary - with the sole exception of those sections that may be required by law.

b. Perform the original ceremony provided he has no other obligations the same day.

i. An additional fee of $60 will be assessed and must be paid the same day.

c. If the ceremony must be rescheduled by no fault of the officiant, an additional $100 fee will be assessed and must be paid prior to the rescheduled date.

VII. Contract Termination: Termination of this contract can be done only by the officiant, or partner 1 or partner 2. Officiant reserves the right to cancel services to the couple for any of the following:

a. Unreasonable demands/actions from the wedding couple, from the wedding couple's parents or step-parents, or their guests.

b. A safe environment is not provided and/or the officiant is under duress and/or threat from any person.

VIII. Refunds: All fees paid are non-refundable.

a. The reservation fee is non-refundable, however is transferable to another date & time, plus a $25.00 fee.

i. This must be requested at least one week before the original reserved date.

b. If paid in full, a refund (minus the reservation fee) will be issued if canceled prior to one month before the reserved date.

c. In the event that the officiant is unable to perform the wedding ceremony due to illness, hospitalization, accidents, transportation breakdown or other unforeseeable causes, he will make every possible attempt to notify the couple and arrange for a suitable substitute officiant.

i. In such an event all monies paid by the couple to the officiant will be returned, but the couple hereby agrees that officiant will NOT be held liable for any damages (including punitive) due to the non-performance of the ceremony or function.

d. The undersigned understands, agrees and consents to release and indemnify the Officiant from and against any and all liability, claims, damages, and actions arising directly or indirectly from his services.

This agreement and any attachments constitute the entire agreement between the parties and may not be modified except in writing signed by both parties. No other representation or promises have been made except those that are set out in this agreement.

If any part of this agreement is adjudged to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining parts shall not be affected and shall remain in full force and effect.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto agree to the terms and conditions as described above and have caused this Contract to be signed below. The use of a typed signature, constitutes your acceptance and agreement as if actually signed by you in writing. If you agree to all terms and conditions of this contract, the box must be checked.
